Biography
Augustin Magloire Carier was born in Aug 1771 and was baptized on 12 Aug in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli parish in L'Islet, Province de Québec. He was the son of Augustin Magloire Carier and Marie Veillancour of this parish. Sponsors for the infant Augustin Magloire's baptism were Joseph Carier and Clothilde Peltier (?); neither sponsor signed the register.
At age 22 Augustin married first wife Marie Victoire Gagnon on 22 Jan 1794 in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli parish in L'Islet, Bas-Canada. There were three known children born into this marriage. Victoire died at age 32 on 17 Mar 1806 in Baie-du-Febvre.
At age 37 Augustin married second wife Marie Antoinette Perigord on 28 May 1809 in Saint-Jean-Baptiste parish in Nicolet, Bas-Canada. There was one known child born into this marriage.
