Biography
Robert was born in 1824 in Wales. He was the son of James Canfil, founder.
Robert Canfil/Canfield married Mary Williams in the Parish Church in Merthyr Tydfil, County of Glamorgan, Wales, on Jan. 31, 1848. At the time of his marriage, he lived in Penydarran and was a puddler. They were married in the presence of W. Rowland and Walter Williams.
Robert passed away in July 1885 and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio, on July 29, 1885.
