Janet (Jessie) Campbell was born about 1837 in Rothesay, Buteshire, Scotland, the daughter of Duncan Campbell & Mary MacArthur.[1][2][3][4]
Janet Campbell, Servant, age 29, of Glasgow, (daughter of Duncan Campbell, Mariner and Mary Campbell maiden surname McCarter) & John McColl Lennox, Ironstone Miner, Bachelor, age 24, of Jordan Hill, Renton (?), (son of Alexander Lennox, Carter, Deceased & Margaret Lennox maiden surname Bennie) were married 14th July 1865 at Gourock, Renfrewshire, Scotland after Banns according to the Forms of the Free Church of Scotland by Robert McKellar, Minister of the Church, Gourock. Witnesses were Alex Campbell & Isabella Campbell.[5][6][7]
On 22nd March 1883, Janet Linnox (age 46) & her husband John (41) together with their children Alex (16), John (9), Jessie (7), Duncan (5), & Mary McLennox (13) sailed from Glasgow, Scotland on the "Nairnshire" a 961 ton full rigged sailing vessel captained by Captain Peattie, and arrived at the Burnett Heads, Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia on 7th July 1883 after a passage of 107 days. The immigrants were taken aboard the steamer "James Paterson" on 9th July 1883 & landed that day at Bundaberg.[8][9][10][11]
Janet Lennox died aged 47, on 16th March 1884 at Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia & was laid to rest that day at the Bundaberg General Cemetery, Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.[12][13][14][15]
