The second son of Jonathan Hindle Calvert was christened with the same name as his father. To distinguish between the two, the younger man was known by his middle name, Hindle.
( After receiving an education at Well Hall boarding school in Clitheroe, Hindle joined the family business at Oakenshaw Printworks. At the age of 21, he married his cousin, Alice on 20 Aug 1891 in Altham, Lancashire, England. To support his young. family he progressed steadily up the ladder to the position of manager, a post that he continued to hold under the Calico Printers combine after the amalgamation in 1899.
Jonathan was a prominent figure in Clayton-Ie-Moors and was well thought of for his charity work and his role as secretary and organiser of the old folks treat. Like his father, he served on the District Council and was also connected with the local Conservative party.
He became a Freemason in 1893, being initiated into Albert Edward Lodge No 1519 in Clayton-Ie-Moors on 28 December. He 'passed' to the second level on 22 February 1894, and was 'raised' to the level of Master Mason on 29 March of the same year. He also joined the Red Rose of Lancaster Lodge No 1504 in Padiham on 2 March 1899 but resigned on 4 February 1901 when, like his father before him, he was elected Master of Albert Edward Lodge. He resigned from the Freemasons on 29 January 19~3.
His death certificate reveals that he was an estate agent in Blackpool when he died of jaundice at the age of 35. Deteriorating health may have precipitated his Oakenshaw prompted the dramatically place at Alth

Derbyshire on 19 April 1940 and was buried at AItham. He had issue:

(iii) EDITH was born in Clayton-le-Moors on 8 July 1898. She died in Buxton, Derbyshire in June 19 and was buried in Altham churchyard in the family vault along ide her parents.
DEATH OF Mr. J. H. CALVERT. Well-known Claytonian Gone. Considerable surprise and regret was occasioned in Clayton-Ie-Moors yesterday on receipt of the news of the death of Mr. J. Hindle Calvert, second son of the late Mr. Jonathan Hindle Calvert, J.P., formerly of Oaken shaw Printworks, which took place on Saturday at his residence at Norbreck, Blackpool. The deceased only left Clayton-Ie- Moors a year or two ago for Blackpool. For several years he took part in the management of the Oaken shaw Printworks, a position which, after continuing under the Calico printers combine for some time, he resigned. He was known of everyone in Clayton-Ie- Moors and served on the local District Council. He was also connected with the Conservative party in Clayton-Ie-Moors. Deceased was in his 36th year. FUNERAL OF MR. J. H. CALVERT The late Mr. J. Hindle Calvert, junr., whose death occurred at Blackpool on Saturday, during the years he resided in Clayton-Ie- Moors evinced great interest in the old folks' treat of which he acted as secretary, and that was the only public body invited to attend the funeral of the deceased, which took place on Wednesday at. Altham Church. The remains were conveyed by train from Blackpool to Simonstone. The cortege consisted of a hearse and three coaches, the mourners being: Messrs. H. P. and W. Calvert (brothers), Richard and Fred Calvert (cousins), Chapman (Southport), H. and A. Shutt, J. L. Hindle, Houston (Southport), and F. Riley, J.P. (Hapton). The service was conducted by the Rev. J. Robinson, vicar. The following represented the old folks treat committee: Messrs. A. E. Britcliffe, J. W. Cooper, S. Wilkinson, J. T. Clayton, H. Sumner, J. Robinson, J. Pickup, and J. Fielding, and the latter four carried the remains from the church to their last resting place. The coffin was covered with wreaths and floral tributes.
