Biography
Gilbert Caissie was born on 12 May 1854 and baptized the same day in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the son of Fidèle Caissie and Séraphie Poirier.[1][2]
Gilbert married Christine Gallant, daughter of Urbain Gallant and Marguerite Melançon, on 28 Jan 1878 in Grande-Digue.[3]
He died on 14 Jan 1941 in Sunny Brae.[4]
Research Notes
There is a burial record for a child of Gilbert Caissy in the Grande-Digue parish register dated 5 Aug 1882, Joseph, aged 3 months.[5] However, there must be an error in the parish register since the child's birth would have been too close to his daughter Seraphine (born Jan 1882). Or, Joseph could have been a child of a different Gilbert Caissy. Fremmerlid-1 21:00, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
