Biography

William Buggs is a part of US Black heritage.

William Buggs was born on 10 November 1907 in Rome, Georgia. He was the son of Columbus Buggs and Lola Malone.

On 7 January 1920, 13-year-old William Buggs lived with his aunt Mattie McCombs and her son Walter C. McCombs at 2051 Ontario Avenue in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. Mattie was renting the house while doing laundry and cooking for a private family. Walter was a barber.^[1]

William died on 29 May 1944 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. He was accidentally killed in an elevator at the First National Bank building. He had suffered a skull fracture.^[2][3] He is buried in Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield.^[4]
