Elizabeth Strachan Brown was born on 2 October 1832 in Montrose, Angus, Scotland.

She married Thomas Brown in 1851 at the Presbyterian Church in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.^[1] Their children were:

• Isabella Henrietta Brown (1857–1934)^[2]
• Thomas Brown (1860– )^[3]

Elizabeth died on 27 September 1863 in Toorak, Victoria, aged 30 years. Her remains were buried at Melbourne General Cemetery in Carlton North, Victoria.^[2]
