In 1851[3] Benjamin (11) "coal miner" was living with her parents Edward (40) "coal miner" and Jane (38) at Lings Row No. 17 North Wingfield together with siblings Elizabeth (13), William (10) "coal miner", Samuel (5), George (3) and Harriet (1). Also in the household were three lodgers John Bell (23), Willm Bell (21) and George Bell (19), all three "coal miners".
Marriage Benjamin married Effie West on 28 May 1860 in South Normanton Derbyshire [4][5].
Benjamin and Effie had four children:
In 1861[12] Benjamin (21) "coal miner" and Effie (20) and their 8 month old daughter Elizabeth were living in South Normanton.
In 1871[13] Benjamin (30) and Effie (28) were living in Market Place South Normanton together with their children Elizabeth (10) and Sarah (7).
In 1874 Effie died age 34 [14] and was buried on 21 March 1874 in South Normanton [15].
Died Benjamin Brooks "stallman" died in a mining accident in 1877 [16] "Clearing up dirt in front of coals part holded and left standing without being spragged.". He was buried on 10 May 1877 in South Normanton Derbyshire [17]. He was 39 year old.
