Elizabeth Rowden, born 1664 in England, was the daughter of Elizabeth Chorley and her first husband (Rowden or Rawden, first name unknown). She emigrated to Pennsylvania along with her family about 1682 with William Penn's Quakers.
She is recorded in the records of the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting 1 8th month (October 1), 1684 when she declared her intention to marry John Brock. Together, Elizabeth and John had six children: John, Ralph, Jane, Richard, Mary and Elizabeth. Elizabeth survived John and was granted letters of administration to the estate of her husband October 5, 1704.
She was given leave to marry, as her second husband, Richard Ayrs (2nd intention at the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, 1 9th month (November 1), 1704).
Elizabeth's will was dated 14 November 1747 and was probated June 22, 1753. Her will mentions:
