Biography

This profile is part of the Watten, Caithness One Place Study.

Alexander Bremner and Helen Tait were named as the parents of Margaret Bremner who was born about 1830 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 29 September 1830.[1]

In 1851 Alexander is recorded on the census as living in Bilbster, in the parish of Watten, Caithness, where his trade was farmer and shoemaker. Living with Alexander were his children William, Elizabeth, Alexander Junior, Margaret, Magnus, Christina and Catherine, as well as a servant, a journeyman shoemaker by the name of David Gunn.[2]
