Frederick was born in Port Gawler, South Australia on 8 May 1863 to Samuel Braund and Jane Wilson.[1]
Frederick married Mabel Fairfax Barr Smith in Walkerville, South Australia on 15 April 1896.[2] The following marriage notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Evening Journal, on 15 April 1896:[3]
BRAUND—BARR SMITH.—On the 15th April, at St. Andrew's Walkerville, by the Ven. Archdeacon Dove, Frederick William, second son of Samuel Braund, to Mabel Fairfax, eldest daughter of R. Barr Smith.
Frederick died in England on 25 January 1931 at the age of 68 years.[4][5][6] The following death notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser , on 28 January 1931:[6]
BRAUND.-On the 25th January, in England, Frederick William, beloved husband of Mabel Fairfax Braund and son of late Samuel Braund, Prospect, S.A.
The following obituary was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Chronicle, on 29 January 1931:[5]
MR. F. E. BRAUND (sic)
Mr. Fred E. (sic) Braund, a director of George Wills & Co., Ltd., died in London on Sunday. Mr. Braund was well-known in Adelaide, where he was born nearly 68 years ago. He received his education at Whinham College, and entered the employ of the Adelaide branch of the company. He later became manager of the shipping department of the Adelaide office, and in 1896 he transferred to London. At the time of his death he was in charge of the Leadenhall-street office of the company. He visited Adelaide several times since taking up his residence in London, the last occasion being in 1921. He leaves a widow, the eldest daughter of the late Mr. Robert Barr Smith. He is survived by two brothers, Messrs. J. E. and G. C. Braund, of Adelaide, and three sisters, Mesdames L. J. Langman, of Royston Park; A. P. Gardiner, of North Adelaide; and W. H. Hussey, of Adelaide.
