Biography

Marie Elizabeth Bouteillier was born circa 1753 and baptized September 2, 1753, the daughter of Jean and Françoise Bouteillier, shortly after they emigrated to Nova Scotia[1] [2][3] [4] [5]

On December 29, 1776, she married Jean-Christophe (Joseph) Dauphinée, another early Lunenburg settler[6] [7] . Their children included:

  1. James Nicholas born December 7, 1777, who died December 14[7]
  2. Mary Elizabeth, born November 9, 1778, who married john Joseph Bouteillier in 1798[7]
  3. John Joseph, born October 31, 1780[7]
  4. Sarah Elizabeth, born November 11, 1782, who married Michael Reuther (Rhuda) in 1803[7]
  5. John George, born October 6, 1784, who died before 1789[7]
  6. George Frederick, born March 17, 1786, who died in infancy[7]
  7. George Frederick, born July 11, 1787[7]
  8. John Frederick, born March 2, 1789, who married Mary Elizabeth Bouteillier at Chester in 1814[7]
  9. John George, born October 22, 1791, who lived at Bouteliers Point[7]
  10. Ann Catherine, born June 25, 1794[7]
  11. Susan Catherine, born July 2, 1796, who married John Croucher of St. Margaret's Bay in 1815[7]
  12. John, born June 1, 1798, who died in 1801[7]
  13. John Frederick, born May 7, 1800[7]
  14. John, a twin, born October 31, 1801[7]
  15. Margaret Elizabeth, a twin, born October 31, 1801, who married John Johnson in 1818[7]

Mary Elizabeth (Bouteillier) Dauphinée died 7 Nov 1836 or 24 Oct 1849 at French Village, Halifax, Nova Scotia[8]
