Elizabeth was born in 1817. She was the daughter of Jacob Boone and Rachel Kessler. She married Nathaniel S. Akers on January 1, 1846 in Franklin County, Virginia.[1] The couple are listed together with six children in their residence in Franklin County on the 1860 Census.[2] and with five children on the 1870 Census.[3] Their youngest child; Cora is the only child still in their residence by the time of the 1880 Census[4] and her husband passed away in 1892. Elizabeth is listed as widowed in the home of her son Edward on the 1900 Census which indicates that she had a total of eight children but only seven were living at the time that the census was taken.[5] She passed away in 1903 at the age of 86 and is buried in Fisher Cemetery in Wirtz, Franklin County, Virginia.[6]
At this time only six of her eight known children are linked on Find-a-Grave; Sara Elizabeth and Cora Lee have not yet been linked and the first child listed - Charles (Charlie) Edward Akers is unverified by census reports or sources; the 1900 Census indicates she had a child that passed away prior to 1900 and I do not believe that Charlie is her son - the 1850 Census and/or more research is needed for verification:
Charles Edward "Charlie" Akers (1848–1927) Unverified - Linked on Find-a-Grave but father listed as Samuel Akers on marriage record
