Marie Claire Blaye was baptized on 29 Jul 1726 in Sainte-Anne parish of Yamachiche, Canada, Nouvelle-France. Her parents were Jacques Blais and Louise Angélique Cartier. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Étienne Galina and Claire Bourguinville. The officiating priest was Augustin Quintal.^[1]

Marriage
Marie Claire Blaye married Jean Baptiste Arcan, son of Pierre Arcand and Madeleine Grégoir, on 14 Feb 1752 in Saint-Anne de Yamachiche. In the presence of known witnesses Pierre Gladu, Alexis Carboneau, and Antoine Blaye. The celebrant priest was Chef Deville.^[2]

Death and Burial
Claire Blais, wife of the late Pierre Arcan, passed away on 12 Nov 1798 being given the age of around 70 years on the record. Her burial was the 14th in Saint-Cuthbert, Bas-Canada.^[3]
