have spent the last 37 years trying to determine the maiden name of Eleanor (?) Greene Nicks, 1st wife of AM Rev Vet, Benjamin Greene of Screven Co., GA. Upon his death she remarried my ancestor, William Nicks c1805 and lived in Screven Co., GA until his death c1811. Their son, James Rinaldo Nicks is my gr gr gf on my maternal side. DAR recipients on Benjamin Greene did not know their ancestor's maiden name. Some believe there is a Benjamin Greene Bible somewhere among DAR sites.

Charles Campbell Blankenship, Jr. (1861-1953) b. Lee Co., VA; son of Charles Campbell Blankenship, Sr. (1820-1911) b. Lee Co., VA. First CCB was a farmer and preacher. Second CCB was a schoolteacher, Postmaster for Jonesville, Lee Co., VA, Trustee of local school board for Jonesville Institute and finally a music store owner in Appalachia, Wise Co., VA. After retiring, he moved to Norton, Wise Co., VA to live with his daughter, Lennie Blankenship who taught in the Norton High School for a total of more than fifty years. CCB I was married to Susannah Little and CCB II to Emma Catherine Russell.

Read above: My comment on CCB II (1861-1953). He first introduced me to history as we walked in Tallahassee c1943 and later in Norton, VA in the early 1950s. Such a good grandfather.
