Samuel married Adeline Briggs, daughter of [[Briggs-14027 |John Briggs]].

In the 1860 census Saml (age 27), Farmer, was in Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina.^[1]

Samuel fought in the Civil War, and was a POW in Elmira, New York. He died there of disease about Mar 1864.^[2][3]

Samuel's estate passed probate on 11 November 1865.^[4]
