Biography
This profile is part of the Black Name Study.
Andrew Black was born about 1760 in Fife, Scotland.
In 1799 he was a carpenter in Anstruther Easter.[1] He was accused by Mary Runciman of being the father of her child which he denied claiming an alibi for the day however his alibi did not stand up to questioning.
His son was Andrew Black (1799– ).
Research Notes
An Andrew Black, carpenter or Ship's carpenter, from Anstruther was the father of several other illegitimate children around this time.
The children of Margaret Forbes; Isobell Black, Andrew Black, James Black, and Alexander Black son of Elspeth Pringle.[2]
