Luciano Birtone is a Corleone native resident, the son of Biagio Birtone and Antonina Bavuso. Based on his reported ages at the births of his children, Luciano is born around 1804.
Luciano marries Bernarda Marino on 13 July 1828. His parents are both still living at this time.[1]
Luciano and Bernarda have at least nine children together: Biagio (c. 1829), Antonia (1832), Anna (1835), Maria (1837), Antonino (c. 1839), Pasquale (1841), Domenico (c. 1844), Micalangelo (1849) and Lucia (1851).
Biagio is born in 1828, based on his reported age at death. I estimate he is born the following year, the year after his parents marry. Biagio is named after his paternal grandfather.
Antonina is baptized on 24 May 1832, named after her paternal grandmother. Her godparents are Giovanni and Maria Marino, brother and sister.[2]
I estimate Antonino is born around 1839, before his brother, Pasquale, in 1841. Antonino is named after his maternal grandfather, traditional for the second born son.
Based on his age at marriage, Domenico is born around 1844.
Antonina marries Pietro Crapisi, a widow, on 1 May 1848.[6]
Michaelangelo is born 31 March 1849; Luciano's age at the time is given as 45 (for an estimated birth year of 1804).[7]
Lucia is born 12 November 1851 in her parents' home in via S. Elena, Corleone. Luciano's age is given as 40 at this time (for an estimated birth year of 1811), in conflict with the birth record for Michaelangelo. In both cases, the birth is recorded by the midwife, who reports the parents' ages. Luciano's occupation is given as Pecoraro (shepherd). Bernarda is 36.
Antonino marries Maria Terrusa on 9 November 1862. Luciano has passed away by this time.[8]
Domenico, a borgese, marries Antonina Cascio Gianarano of Roccamena on 26 October 1872.[9]
Pasquale marries Maddalena Todaro on 21 November 1875. His father has died by this time.[10]
Lucia marries Raffaele di Simone on 2 June 1878.[11]
Michaelangelo marries twice. His first marriage is to Maria Rosa Colletti, on 24 Nov 1878.
Lucia dies at 76 via Borgognoni in Corleone on 15 April 1879, at age 27.[12]
Michaelangelo is widowered in 1880 and remarries the following year to Emmanuela Cascio.[13]
Pasquale dies at the age of 51 in his home on via Sant'Elena, 30 in October 1892. He is predeceased by his parents. His wife, Maddalena, survives him.[14]
Sac. Biagio Birtone, of the Mother College, dies of an apoplectic attack at age 73 (b. 1828) on 13 June 1901.[15]
Michaelangelo dies on 8 August 1902, the same day as his infant daughter. He is 53 years old. His second wife, Emmanuela, survives him.[16]
