Biography

Birth

No record has been found of the birth of Albion P. Beckler. He was the son of Philip Beckler and Fanny (Otis) Beckler.[1] In the 1850 Census, he is shown as 20 years old, born in Maine.[2] Based on his death record, he was born at Pittston, Maine, to Philip C. and Fanny Beckler, about September 1829.[3] His date of birth on his gravestone is 12 Sep 1829.[4]

Civil War Service

Albion P. Beckler mustered into Company K of the 26th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment at Boston on 2 Sep 1861 and served as a wagoner with the company until 4 Nov 1864, when he mustered out as the company's head wagoner.[5]

Marriage

Albion P. Beckler married Sarah J. Norris.[3] She was the younger sister of his stepmother, Betsey (Norris) Beckler.

Death

Albion P. Beckler died at Boston, Massachusetts, on 14 Mar 1888, with his age at his death recorded as 58 years, 6 months.[6] He has a gravestone at the Strickland Cemetery in Livermore Falls, Maine.[4]
