Philo Noah Beardslee was born on 14 Mar 1822 in Tompkins, New York, United States, son of Ransom Beardsley (1793–1850) and Sally Smiley (1793–1866).

Philo (26) married Salinda Rickert (20) (born on 18 Oct 1827 in Ohio, United States) on 24 Mar 1848 in Cass, Michigan.[1] [2] Their children were:
