Biography

Joseph Bartlett was born on 18 Apr 1665 in Plymouth, Massachusetts to parents Joseph Bartlett and Hannah Pope. He married Lydia Griswold on 6 Jun 1692 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Children: Joseph, Lydia, Samuel, Benjamin, Sarah.

Joseph married Lidia Griswel on 6 June 1692 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[1]

Joseph died on 9 April 1703 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[2]

Joseph died on 9 Apr 1703 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and was buried on Burial Hill, Plymouth, Massachusetts on 13 Apr 1703. Gravestone inscription: "Here lyeth buried ye body of Joseph Bartlett who departed this life Aprill ye 9 H 1703 in ye 38 H year of his age"

On 18 June 1703, Lydia was granted the letter of administration of his estate. His settlement was recorded on 20 December 1705. His children, Joseph, Samuel, Benjamin, Lidia, and Sarah received two-thirds of the estate.[3]

His inventory was taken on 21 April 1703.[4]

On 24 June 1704, his widow Lidia, was appointed guardian to his children, Joseph, Samuel, Benjamin, Lydia, and Sarah.[5]

In 1705, after his widow remarried, Ephraim Little was appointed guardian of his children, Joseph, Samuel, and Lidia.[6]

In 1706, Ephraim Little was appointed guardian to his children, Benjamin and Sarah.[7]

In 1713, his land was inventoried and the estate settlement was set out to Joseph (eldest son), Samuel, Benjamin, Lydia, and Sarah, and his widow now the wife of Joseph Holmes.[8]
