Biography

Margaret Lavina Barr was born on 3 April 1855 in Iowa, United States, daughter of Milton Ford Barr (1829–<1912) and Catherine Johnston (1826–1884).[1]

In 1860, Margret L (5) was living in Windsor, Fayette, Iowa, United States. [1]

In 1870, Margaret (15) was living in Lake Township, Cook, Illinois, United States. [2][3]

In 1875, Margt L (20) was living in Neosho, Kansas, United States. [4]

Margaret married Alfred Christopher Walkup (born on 18 May 1849 in McHenry County, Illinois, United States; son of John Beard Walkup and Mary Jane (White) Walkup) on 21 April 1880 in Osage, Kansas, United States.[5][6] Their children were:

  1. John Milton Walkup (6 October 1881 – before 31 December 1972)
  2. Eleanor Eva Walkup (14 March 1885 – 21 March 1969)
  3. Alfred William Walkup (22 December 1886 – before 31 December 1972)

Margaret died on 16 August 1888 in Kosrae Island, Kosrae, Micronesia, aged 33.
