Adam married Hannah Dorsey Hannah Dorsey in 1732 in his hometown. They had nine children in 17 years. [1]
About 1732 Adam Barnes married Hannah Dorsey, of John of Col. Edward Dorsey, and John’s wife Honor . Hannah was born 26 August 1709, so Adam was probably born 1700-1710. [6]
Adam owned a great deal of land in Howard County. Some he patented and surveyed himself, some he bought, and he inherited some from his father-in-law, John Dorsey. [2]

He and his brother Peter Barnes were on the vestry of Queen Caroline Parish, in Howard County, when Caleb and John Dorsey deeded the vestry the land on which the present Christ (P.E.) Church now stands. [2]
1763 Will
Adam made his will 19 November 1763, and it was filed 16 February, 1779 in Anne Arundel County. From this will and the Anne Arundel County Land Records we have been able to find the names of his children and
who they married. [8]

He died on February 16, 1779, in Anne Arundel, Maryland, at the age of 73.[1]
