Elizabeth Barnes was born on 31 Dec 1852 in Lower Hutt, Lower Hutt City, Wellington, New Zealand.[1] Her parents were Thomas Barnes and Mary Ann Gaskin.[1]

She married her cousin, George Peck (son of Daniel Peck and Elizabeth Gaskin) in 1876 in New Zealand.[2] Together they had 7 children:

  3. George Peck[5] (who would marry his cousin Mary Creech, daughter of Amelia (Barnes) Creech.)

Child Albert Hugh Barnes/Peck was born before Elizabeth married George, and is registered with the surname Barnes, father listed as Thomas.[10]

She died on 24 Sep 1911 in Lower Hutt aged 58,[11] and was buried at Christ Church Anglican Cemetery in Taita, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.[12]
