Ann Woolridge Barnes was born about 1735 in St. Pierre, British Colony, daughter of Robert Woolridge Barnes (~1700–~1764) and Eleanor Anderson (~1710–1760).
Ann (20) married Morgan Snook (20) (born before July 29, 1735 in Poole, Dorset, England; son of Morgan Snook IIa and Susannah Jane (Unknown) Snook) on January 20, 1756 in St Andrew's Church, Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset.

Ann Barnes seems to have been born on the then-British Island of St. Pierre, and moved to Grand Bank, Newfoundland when St. Pierre was turned over to the French (see the Grand Bank page for a description of migration at the time).
Ann and her siblings were each left an equal share of her Father's belongings in his will. Morgan Snook, Mariner was named as her husband. Morgan was travelling back and forth to Newfoundland for the fishing season at this time. Only a few years later did the whole family move there.
