Benjaman died on 5 February 1918 At Sea, aged 23. He was aboard the ship SS Tuscania when it was torpedoed near the Isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland.^[4] He was buried in Hardy Cemetery, Hardy, Montague County, Texas. ^[1]
