Edward Barker was born in Shropshire, England.

John Barker alias Coverall of Wolverton (buried 4 May 1572, husband of Elizabeth Hill) had among his children Edward Barker of Wolverton (Wollerton in Shropshire), who died 1558. Son and heir, inquisition postmortem 1558.^[1][2][3]

Edward married Catherine or Katharen Egerton, daughter of Ralph Egerton of Wrinhill.^[2][1]
