There is no record of Louisa's baptism. To confirm that she is the daughter of Jacques Barbot and Marie Paré, one needs to look at wills. Mother Mary's will was written 31 Aug 1748 and proved 30 Apr 1752. She was a widow of St Giles, and divides her estate equally between sons John and James and daughter Louise Lassere. She mentions her grandaughter Mary eldest daughter of her son John Barbot. ^[1]

Brother John's will also confirms brother James & sister Louise married to Anthony Laserre. ^[2]

Louisa Barbot, of St Leonard Shoreditch, married John Augustus de l'Epenay, of ye City of Winchester, on 9 Jun 1734 at St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, England. ^[3]

They had a child baptised Mary Catharina De L'Espinay on 28 Dec 1735 at St Maurice, Winchester, Hampshire, England. The father is given as John Augustus but no mother's name was recorded. Louisa's aunt Susanne Paré also lived in Winchester. ^[4] Mary Delespine, child, was buried at Christ Church, Spitalfields, Middlesex, England on 10 Nov 1737.^[5]

John Augustus' surname has many variant spellings - De L'Espiney, Delespine, De Lespine, Delapine, Delepine, Lepine, Lespine. And also Lepeny which is how it was recorded in the St Giles in the Field register when Louise remarried. I have seen the St Giles register entry, but I haven't viewed the St Martin in the Fields register.

Louise Lepeny married Anthony Lasserre on 11 Jan 1740/41 at St Giles in the Field, Holborn, Camden, Middlesex, England. Anthony of St James, Westminster and Louise of St Leonards, Shoreditch. ^[6]

When Louisa Laserre wrote her will on11 Apr 1781 she was a widow of St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex, England. Previously of Kensington. Only mentions nephew Paul Barbot &his sister, her niece, Louisa Barbot [Newport in probate]: both named executors. Signed Louise Lassere. Proved 25 Nov 1785. ^[7]
