I'm interested in all my ancestors, but at the moment I'm delving into the Huguenots. Most of my families arrived in England after 1685. They tended to marry other Huguenots for several generations - up until my 3 greats grandfather John Isaac Chaillé married Anne Edwards in 1815. My direct line includes Chaillé, Barbot, Chardavoyne, Jourdain, Traverrier, Mignan, Gruzelier, Paré, Sené but I've also amassed information on the Perigal, Lestourgeon, Travers families etc. The Barbot family was from St Martin de Ré, the Chaille and others from the Saintonge, Mignans were Belloy, Jourdain, Sené, Perigal, Lestourgeon were from Dieppe, Gruzelier from La Roche-Bernard. Occupations include merchants - several part owned ships, goldsmiths, watchmakers, surgeons, weavers ... I started researchin

I've added a couple of siblings and still have their children to add (and possibly other siblings) - I was out today. Plus we've ordered an adapter so I can view the familysearch film on a bigger screen. There was a Jean Barbot mentioned at the front of the first register at St-Martin-de-Ré (starts mid 1648), but I didn't spot him on my first run through the film. The unknown Barbot would've been born in the 1580s I'm surmising, as son Pierre was born 1620 at the latest. I'd suggest Barbot-79 - but haven't come across an Helene yet. Keep plugging. As you say - C'est bon ...

Hi Anne .. At your own pace, keep it nourishing and enjoy the work. I started the Barbot name study so you can work on it with priority and direction. You can go and edit, add etc to the name study with the same tools as a profile.

As time goes on you may want to add other name studies.

Hi Anne .. I went ahead and established the Barbot name study on WikiTree. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Barbot_Name_Study

and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Barbot_Name_Study.

Review : https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Barbot-90 for an example on how to add the category and sticker to Barbot (or variant) profiles

I'm looking forward to your collaboration.

I'm afraid I can't help you with Barbot-33 and Barbot-86. Barbot-25 had a son Jean Timotthe (Barbot-102) who was baptised 24 May 1693 - I have noted that he was baptised the day he was born, but that doesn't show in the online register; maybe it is in the original? This Jean Timotthe was presumably deceased by 1 May 1695 when only parents John and Susan and Ann are listed at St Mary Bothaw on the tax assessment.

I have applied to join the Huguenot Migration Project.
