She passed away on 30 Apr 1926 at home and was buried at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Sullivan, Franklin County, Missouri, USA. [1]
Mrs. Sarah Armistead departed this life, April 30, 1926 at her home near Evergreen Church after a long illness of pneumonia and flu. At the time of her death she had reached the age of 72 years 2 months and 21 days. She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, two daughters and five sons, Clarence Lafe, Sylvester Monroe, George Washington, Thomas J., Richard, Mrs. William (Victoria Caldonia) Lawrence and Mrs. Jess (Lockey J.) Laubinger. 47 grandchildren, two brothers, two sister and many other relative and friends. the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery, Saturday at 2 o'clock. Daughter Phoebe A. (7-18-1893 to 8-31-1893) preceded her in death.
