Benjamin Baldwin was born in Massachusetts.

Benjamin, the youngest of eight children of Thomas Baldwin and Sarah French was born on 9 April 1724 at Billerica, Massachusetts.[1]

American Revolutionary War Service

Benjamin Baldwin served with 8th Massachusetts Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Benjamin was in the battle of Bunker Hill. According to the DAR, Benjamin was a Minute Man at the Lexington Alarm. Of four soldiers named Baldwin, in 1775, In Capt. Jonathan Stickney's company of Volunteers, in Col. Ebenezer Bridge's 8th MA Regiment, three were Benjamin, and his sons Jeremiah and Benjamin. This company was in the battle of Bunker Hill, and Asa Pollard, a member of it, was the first man killed.[2]

Marriage and Children

Benjamin married Sarah Pollard (1726-), the daughter of Edward and Judith (Hazeltine) Pollard on 2 April 1747 at Billerica.[3] Their marriage was also recorded at Tewksbury, about 5 miles from Billerica.[4] Benjamin and Sarah had eleven children:
