The 1925 census for North Dakota indicates that Fred (37 years) and Louise (25 years) were still living in Enderlin with Leverett (6 years) and his siblings Olive Belle (5 years), Kenneth (2 years) and Walter (1 year).[1]
By 1930, the family had moved from North Dakota to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and two more children were added, Mark James (4 years) and Shirley (1 year). Fred was working in construction.[2]
By 1940, Lev had one more sibling, Ben (age 9 years). Lev had taken on the responsibilities as 'man' of the family due to his father's sudden death from a heart attack in 1935. The 1940 census showed Lev was working for the government in forestry, one of the depression era programs established by the New Deal.[3]
Lev registered for the draft in 1941; however, he was listed as 4F due to right ear deafness.[4]
Marriage and Children
Lev married Carolyn May George, the daughter of Edward and May (Koput) George on 24 June 1944 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They had several children.
Death and Burial
Leverett Frederick Baldwin died on 11 January 1982 in his 63rd year of cancer at St Joseph's Hospital Hospice at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His cremains were buried in Langlade County Wisconsin.[5][6]
