Hanford "Ham" A. Baldock, born on August 6, 1915, in Chilton, was an American sports enthusiast, businessman, and dedicated community member. He was the son of Edward C. and Ida Baldock. Hanford attended grade and high school in Chilton before relocating to Clintonville in 1940.

Upon moving to Clintonville, Ham secured a position at the FWD Corporation. Alongside his work, he showcased his athletic talent by participating in the corporation's basketball and baseball teams. In October 1942, he embarked on a new chapter of his life by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Ham served his country diligently until January 1946, during which time he was stationed in the China-Burma-India Theater from 1943 to 1946.

After the war, Ham returned to civilian life but was later recalled to the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1951 to 1952. Despite his military commitments, Ham managed to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations. In 1947, he became the proud owner of a local business located on the corner of Meade Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Ham dedicated himself to running the establishment for an impressive two decades.

Throughout his life, Ham actively engaged in various community organizations and associations. He was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church, demonstrating his strong faith and commitment to his spiritual community. Additionally, he served as the president of the Northside Advancement Association in 1965, striving to improve and uplift his neighborhood.

Ham's dedication to his country extended beyond his military service. He was a proud member of the Harvey Pierre VFW Post 2778, supporting and advocating for fellow veterans. He also joined AARP, demonstrating his concern for the well-being and rights of older adults.

Ham's love for sports was evident in his active participation in Semi-Pro baseball and basketball teams. He possessed a competitive spirit and excelled in these athletic endeavors. Additionally, he was an avid bowler, golfer, and sports fan, cherishing the thrill of the game.

On September 16, 1943, Ham exchanged wedding vows with his beloved wife, Vernell J. Lichtenberg. Together, they shared a life filled with love, support, and companionship.
