Biography

Augusta May Bailey was born 11 Dec 1906, in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. She was the daughter of Gus Bailey and Myrtle Griffin Bailey.

In 1920, they were living at 79 Windsor Street, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California. Parents Gus and Myrtle, children Augusta, John, Patrick, Vesta, Peggy, and Myrtle. ^[1]

She married William Henry Horn, 07 Jun 1924 at the Santa Cruz East Side Methodist Church, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California. They had children, son William, daughters Mary and Patty.

In 1935 and 1940, William and Augusta lived at 244 Soquel Avenue, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California. Their children with them, Billy, Mary and Patty. ^[2]

Augusta and William divorced. Augusta married again to Arthur Matthews, 15 Dec 1951 in Reno, Washoe County, Nevada.

Augusta passed away 06 Feb 1969, at Watsonville Hospital, Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, California. She is buried in the Oakwood Memorial Park, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California. ^[3]
