Francis Bacon was born on 28th October 1909 at 63 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin. ^{[1] [2]} He was the son of Captain Anthony Edward Mortimer and Christinia Winifred (née Firth) Bacon. He was recorded in Kennycourt, County Kildare on the 1911 Census. ^[3]` He began painting in 1929 ^[4] or 1930. ^[5] He died of a heart attack on 28th April 1998 in Madrid, ^{[4] [5] [6]} while visiting his "last great love," José Capelo. ^[7]
