Good afternoon Amie.

I went to message you on Facebook and found you were missing off of my friends list. I am assuming it was when178 of my friends went missing at one time, about a year and a half ago. Then, same amount went missing about six months or so ago. About two months ago one of the men I went to high school with posted that he had 178 friends he just had found were missing off of his list. Hummmmm....! Saw you and Denis at a distance, at the Rotary Drawdown. The reason for my mssage to you is I saw you listed on a DNA test for Benjamin H. Forston, a long lost relation to my husband Michael: Benjamin H. Fortson 1765–1823 BIRTH 1765 • Caroline, Colony of Virginia DEATH 1 NOV 1823 • Elbert County, Georgia, USA paternal grandfather of wife of 2nd cousin of husband of 2nd great-grandaunt of husband https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/86990647/person/252504330471/facts Benjamin G. I just told Michael that I found YOU, and he reminded me that he saw you and your husband in Rouses a couple of months ago. He was happy to hear the connection. Regards to you both. Barbara Burke

Please advise if Lewis James Willis had a daughter named Deborah Willis. DNA tests suggest she was one, but not mentioned in historical articles. Deborah married Peter Greenlee who worked for Martha Ball Washington.

Thanks!

Hi Paul- I haven’t had as much time to dedicate to Wikitree of late - but when I can I will… and your query will be first up:) .. That said, I have access to the same resources as everyone else… and I dig, dig, dig and confirm, confirm as much as possible. The rabbit holes can be deep…

Hi Amie,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted". You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Amie, you attached parents to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Oliver-6886 . What is the source for those parents? Please add the source to his profile. Thank you.

Amie,

This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro! If not, you can always revisit the tour stops via the comment boxes on the right side of your profile.

You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. Today, we want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Emma :-)

P.S. Wow! You are off to a great start at WikiTree! Congratulations on the May club 100 badge.

Amie --

You may have been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Amie

You've been here for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know us a little better.

You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions as that is the only way we gain knowledge!

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on the bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try sometime!

Hi Amie,

It's time for the next stop on your guided tour. This week, we'd like to introduce you to the WikiTree community.

This stop gives you some options for ways to get involved, and how to find out about WikiTree's latest developments: How to Join in the Community.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Thanks for joining the Virginia Project! When you get a chance, please add something about yourself in the Members section of the project page & take a look at our goals and "things to do".

Cheers, Liz

P.S. You might also want to add southern_colonies to your list of followed tags - that project covers "pre-USA".

Feel free to contact me via my profile page. I am happy to help!

Hi Amie!

You are now a confirmed of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering to add your precious family history. We've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members love to help out fellow genealogists, or go in on the Question of the Week: How do you use census data?

If you need additional help, Contact a Mentor! They're a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree specific problems.

See you in the branches --
