She married Henry Usher (the son of Jonathan Usher, a Weaver) on 10 January 1842 at the parish church in Westbury, Wiltshire, by Banns[1]. Henry was a Soldier in the 53rd Regiment. They were both illiterate so signed with their Mark X.

They went on to have about four children.

Hannah and her husband Henry emigrated from England to Australia while she was pregnant with their son Job[2]. They may have had their firstborn son with them also. They departed from London and arrived in Adelaide, South Australia on 14 May 1846 on board the ship Isabella Watson under the command of Captain A. G. Thompson. (This ship made a trip with convicts in 1842 and then when conveying migrants to Melbourne she became a total wreck at Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, on 21 March 1852.)

Her husband Henry passed away on 23 December 1851 at age 39, after suffering heatstroke.

Hannah married, secondly, William Henry Arney (AKA James Moody) on 4 September 1852 at Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide, South Australia. They went on to have at least six children together before he abandoned the family in 1864.

Hannah Arney passed away on 3 June 1907 and was buried on 4 June 1907 at Woodside Methodist Cemetery, Woodside, South Australia, Australia[3].

While the records report the Hannah who married William ARNEY was 26 and single at marriage, this entry indicates she might have been 31 and widowed. Perhaps a reason to doubt the connection between Usher and Arney?
