Gideon married first Zeruiah/Zerviah Cogswell, daughter of Dea. Thomas & Huldah (Kinne/Kinney) Cogwell

After the death of Zerviah he married Elizabeth (Morgan) Johnson, daughter of Capt. Daniel & and Elizabeth (Gates) Morgan and widow of Stephen Johnson, on 6 Oct 1776

Gideon died at the age of 47 and is buried at Pachaug Cemetery, New London Co., CT

Daniel Morgan and Elizabeth Gates, and widow of Stephen Johnson of Norwich CT, by whom she had one child, Stephen Johnson Jr. born 23 Jan 1753.
