Martha was born before 1771. She was the daughter of John Atkinson and Frances Walker. In 1774 she traveled with her family to Nova Scotia aboard the ship Albion. She was still alive on 18 December 1811, when her father mentioned her in his will. He referred to her as Martha Atkinson, suggesting she had not married. The will is the last known mention of Martha in any records located to date.
