Biography

Otis Armstrong was born on October 30, 1902 at Hot Springs, Arkansas.He was the son of Otis Armstrong and Jennie Box. (see 1910 census below for reference)

1910 US Census, Hot Springs, Garland, Arkansas, USA Otis was living here with his parents and siblings ^[1]

1920 US Census, Olathe, Johnson, Kansas Otis, 17, is living with his parents and younger sister and he is working as a Laborer on Telephone lines. ^[2]

Otis married Roxie Taylor about 1923. They were the parents of one child a son, Jack R Armstrong. (see census below) Jack was born December 23, 1924 in Columbia, Missouri.

In April 1968, Jack was a Sergeant with the Southern Railroad Police, having served for 22 years when, tragically while on duty, he was attacked by 4 men, shot and killed in East St Louis, Illinois. (see his bio on his findagrave memorial) ^[3]

1940 US Census Otis Armstrong, age 37, and his wife Roxie, 37, and their son Jack, 15, lived in East St Louis, Illinois. Otis was a Mechanic at a Meat Packing Plant .^[4]

Otis B Armstrong passed away in Belleville, Illinois on June 14, 1966. ^[5]

He was buried at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Lakeview Heights, Illinois. ^[6]
