John Armstead is a part of US Black heritage.
John Armstead was born in Florida.

John Armstead was born October 14, 1895 in Lloyd, Jefferson County, Florida, United States.

In 1917-1918, John registered for the U.S., WWI draft in Leon County Florida.[1] John Armstead served in the military reaching the rank of Private. Service July 23, 1919.[2] [3]

According to the 1920 census, John, age 25, was residing on Franklin Street, Jacksonville Ward 11, Duval, Florida in the household of his Uncle and Aunt, Adolphus and Mary Ferguson. He is a laborer in a fertilizer plant who could read and write.[4]

Before 1940, John married Clara Daniels in Leon County, Florida.

The 1940 census records John, age 45 living with Clara, 47 in Leon County on a farm which he owns. The value of the home is $350. He has an income of $300.[5]

John Armstead passed away October 28, 1940.[6] He was buried on October 30 in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida.[7]
