Biography

William E. Armstead was born in Boulder, Colorado on January 22, 1920^[1] to Seth Armstead and Wilberta (Hupp) Armstead. He was the youngest of two sons born to the couple.

William was raised in Boulder, Colorado but every winter between 1926 and 1930 his father drove a bus in San Diego, California; so the family would live part of the year in San Diego.^[2] After 1930, the family remained in Boulder, Colorado year round.

As a young man, William worked as a delivery truck driver for a bakery.^[3]

Some time after 1940, William married Dorothy (Hall) Armstead.^[4] They settled in Boulder, Colorado.

William passed away in Boulder, Colorado on May 5, 2004. He was 84 years old.^[1] He is buried alongside his wife in Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, Colorado.^[5]
