Biography

Churchill Armistead was the son of John Armistead and Mary Churchill. He was orphaned about 1762 at the death of his father in Gloucester County, Virginia.

Churchill's maternal uncle, Col. William Churchill, Esq. of Middlesex County, administered over the estate of his father. His mother was again married to Maj. John Robinson of Middlesex County.

Churchill was named as the son and heir at law of his father in the administration of his father's estate, which included receipts for his education submitted by Maj. John Robinson.[1]
