Moddergat Connection

The name Hans Jurgen Appel, during the period up to the death of Adriana Smit's husband in 1766, without reference to Adriana, could be found in one instance:
The name Hans Jurrien Appel, according to Delia Robertson: The First Fifty Years Project, without citing a source,[12] had also been connected to Joannes Appel, brother of Ferdinandus Appel: 11 February 1713, the name of Joannes was written in the record as Hans Jurrien Appel. [12]
Thus the only candidates as this Hans Jurgen Appel at 1719 could be Joannes,[12] who would have been 59 years old at the time, or Jurrien Appel, who would have been 25 years old at the time.[11] Christoffel Coetzee de Villiers' Hans Jurgen Appel, if born 1712, would have been 7 years old at the time and likely not be involved in the purchase of a farm at such an age. [11]
Other than Anna Kleef, "Moddergat" searches pre 1766 on Inventories of the Orphan Chamber, Cape Town Archives Repository, South Africa yields three individuals connected to the place:

Appel experts, kindly contribute with an opinion - as there is no evidence of a birth or baptism, and little evidence of a Hans Jurgen Appel as a unique individual, there is a strong likelihood that this person is actually http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Appel-315 or his eldest son, http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Appel-319.

If the elder Jurrien Appel, Jurrien would have been 47 years old at the time of marrige to Adriana Smit, and roughly 61 years old at time of baptism of the youngest child, Abigael - http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Appel-328.

If the younger Jurgen Appel, Jurgen would have been 17 years old at the time of marriage to Adriana Smit in 1741, which is young and Adriana would have been his senior by 7 years.
