Edmund Angier is an ancestor of President Franklin Pierce[1]

Edmund Angier, the son of John "Anger" and Anna Sherman, was born about 1610 at Dedham, co. Essex, England, and baptized on 31 March 1610 or at Dedham on 31 March 1612.[2]. He was orphaned in 1625.[3]

Per Edmund Angier tombstone Epitaphs he was a Merchant. [4]

'NOTE: If Edmund was born in 1612 or before, he is too young to be the father of Bridget; unless she was born at a later date.[5]

  • John Angier, b. 21 June 1656; d. 9 Dec 1659

Anna Batt and Edmund Angier were married after 12 June 1657. Based on Davis, they had the following children:[3]

Angier-9 and Angier-83 appear to represent the same person because: Same people: Birth same place, bio shows same wives and same children. Please merge. Thanks.

I propose that wife Bridget Rogers and child Bridget be removed from this profile. There is evidence that Edmund married twice: to Ruth Ames and to Ann Batt. There does not appears to be evidence that Edmund married a woman named Bridget or that he had a daughter Bridget. The Edmund born about 1610 was probably too young to have the child Bridget.

After the Bridgets are removed, this profile should be merged with Angier-83.

This source shows he was married only to Ruth Ames and Anna Batt, and shows no child named Bridget. The pioneers of Massachusetts, a descriptive list, drawn from records of the colonies, towns and churches and other contemporaneous documents, published 1900, page 19

Angier-83 and Angier-9 do not represent the same person because: Angier-83, born 1610, has children born in 1659, 1660, 1672, 1676. Angier-9, born before 1601, has child born 1626. He has a wife born 1619 and a second wife born 1635. Also, the two men's date and place of death is wildly different. If you can show that Angier-83 was really born much later, maybe he could be the son of Angier-9.
