Esther Anders was born on 1 Apr 1820, and christened on 23 Apr 1820 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as collier, and the family's address as Parr.[1] [2] She was the daughter of James Anders[3] and Rebecca Anders.[1]

Esther married William Flanegan in 1839, in a registrar-attended ceremony in Prescot district. [4]

In 1841, Esther (Hester) Flannigan (about 20) was living in Prescot, Lancashire, with William Flannigan (about 25) and with Mary Flannigan (0).[2]

Their son James Flanagan was born in 1846 in St Helens. His birth was registered in the last quarter of 1846, in Prescot district.

Esther married John Bridgham on 19 Nov 1848 at All Saints Church in Rainford, Lancashire (Anglican). Both were of full age (21 or more), widowed, and living in Windle. John was a clerk. Their fathers were James Bridgham (gentleman) and James Anders (labourer). The witnesses were Daniel O'Carroll and Mary Anders. [5]

John and Esther's daughter Margaret was born in 1848 in St Helens. Her birth was registered in the last quarter of 1848, in Prescot district (with surname Bridgeham).

Their son Robert Joseph Bridgham was born in about 1851 in St Helens. His birth was registered in the first quarter of 1851, in Prescot district (with surname Bridgeham).

Their son Peter was born in 1853 in St Helens. His birth was registered in the second quarter of 1853, in Prescot district.

Esther Bridgham married Robert Lambert on 2 Nov 1856 at St Thomas' Church in Eccleston, St Helens (Anglican). Robert was 33 and a labourer, and hadn't been married before; Esther was 37 and a widow. Both were living in Eccleston. Their fathers were James Anders (miner) and John Lambert (labourer). The witnesses were Peter Anders and Bridget Priestley.[3][6]
