Biography
Margaret Ann Alton was born in Ontario on February 29, 1868. She was the daughter of Joseph Alton and Margaret Irwin. [1][2][3]
On April 13, 1887, Margaret married Peter Rye, son of Joseph and Catherine Rye.[4] They had three children before they moved west to Alberta in 1901, and two more were born in Alberta. [5][6]
Peter passed away in 1906 and was buried at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. [7]. Margaret married James McBride in 1918, and was widowed for a second time on July 2, 1922.[8] [9]
Margaret married her third husband, Hugh Phillips (1862-1950) at Edmonton, Alberta, in 1924.[10][11][12][13]
Margaret passed away at Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on May 24, 1939. She is buried at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery.[14]
