Biography

Richard Allison, Sr. was born on Feb 20, 1761 in Rowan County (now Iredell County), North Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Allison and Magdaline Neil. He died January 14, 1823 and was buried in the Allison Family Cemetery, Statesville, North Carolina. His grave is distinguished by a standing gravestone.[1]

He married Letitia "Lettice" Neil on July 4, 1785. Lettice was born Feb 9, 176 6, died Oct 13, 1824. They had 12 children.[2]

Richard Allison Sr. served with Rowan County Regiment, North Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

Richard Allison, Senior served in the Salisbury District Brigade (probably in the Rowan County Regiment) of the North Carolina Militia.[3]
