Biography

Daughter of Hannah (unknown) Allen. In the 1880 Census for Little Sauk, Todd, Minnesota, 80-year-old Hannah Allen b. ca. 1799 in New Jersey, is living with Sidney, Esther and Elbert Smith. ^[1]

Mary "Esther" Allen was first married to Horace Blair, M.D. She married Sidney R. Smith in 1847. Her son from that first marriage--Horace Emmett Blair was living with Esther and Sidney on the 1850 and 1860 Federal census.

DIED—On Wednesday night, Mrs. S. R. Smith, wife of “Procter” Smith, at the home of her son at Round Prairie.
