I was born in Decatur Illinois at the Macon County Hospital on 3 August 1944.
I attended Durfee School for kinder garden and Crane school for first grade and second grade up to December. We moved to Cahokia, Illinois where I attended second and third grades at Pitzman School. I attended Chartrand School in Monsanto, Illinois (now named Sauget, Illinois) for the fourth thru eighth grades. I completed my public schooling at Cahokia Commonfields High School in 1962.
I met Shirley McGee, my wife to be, late in 1962 thru her friend Dorothy Smith at the Woolworths in downtown St Louis at 6th and Locust. They worked at the lunch counter.
I worked as a janitor and a carhop at a Dog n Suds driving in restaurant during my high school years. After graduation I worked for Wohl Shoe company on Washington Avenue in St Louis as an office boy. I joined the Naval Reserve in June of 1968. I enrolled in Radarman A school at Great Lakes Naval Center from June to December of 1963.
I reported for active duty on the USS Mullinnix DD944 in February of 1964 and was released from active duty in February 1966.
I was employed by McDonald Aircraft as an aircraft electrician to wire F4 Phantom fighter jets.
In 1969 I earned an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering at Missouri Technical School.
I worked in the computer industry for 48 years for manufacturers' RCA, GTE, and Harris Corporation; end users, Cedar Rapids Gazette and the Denver Post; and the Federal Government, FEMA.
